If you were asked to plan your own future and what it would look like, you would probably paint a colourful and positive picture. Now, if you were to answer the same question for your business, why wouldn’t you use the same creative vision? And more importantly, why wouldn’t you use the best creative minds with the know-how to help realise this vision?

Octopus Media are a full service design agency based in Newcastle working nationally with micro up to multi-international businesses, providing a consistent level of quality and creative customer service.

The design agency offers a full range of traditional online services such as website design, marketing literature and progressive social media that includes email, pay-per-click, and viral marketing. While its software programmers can create a bespoke customer relationship management or indeed any other business system, designed around you at a cost to suit.

In addition, Octopus works very closely with carefully selected partners and has access to print, on-air, and video media being able to reach over one million on their database of individuals for particular campaigns.

Given that Octopus has a broad customer base; the company fully understand the needs and wants of all industry sectors. And by continuously improving staff knowledge through external training and quality assurance, provides the most up-to-date and relevant advice.

Octopus Media also recently appointed a local business leader to help develop its business on a consultative basis.

Ammar Mirza who is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, will offer his expertise and experience to all of the businesses working with Octopus and it is this dynamic collaborative approach that will ensure that each business has access to not just sound media and marketing advice, but genuine in-depth business knowledge.

Brand director of Octopus Richard Gallagher explains: “We started off as a small two-man organisation about four years ago and I am proud to say we have grown organically, so it is not the case we will be here today and gone tomorrow.”

“We now employ over 15 staff, and also have an apprenticeship programme where we take on the next generation of budding designers who have bags of enthusiasm but very little experience.”

“Our design outlook is simple, everything revolves around the customer. We have based our methodology over eight strands – the legs of an octopus – which means in every proposal we make sure all eight core areas of business are always factored in.”

“I personally have experience working with some of the biggest names in business, including Coca Cola, Ricoh and Nike, but I am just as proud as saying we have helped the local retailers and small micro businesses.”

“Each project is unique and we treat each customer individually, and make sure our relationships prosper. The bottom line for each customer is always the return on investment. “We want to help businesses succeed while making sure there is an element of fun and creativity.”

Helping people and the community is also an important element for Octopus which recently worked with local cancer care charity Charlie Bear for free.

The design agency worked to rebrand and modernise the charity based at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, creating a website and a whole host of design and marketing literature, all free of charge.

Farrakh Aslam, production director of Octopus reveals: “I was particularly proud of the work we did the Charlie Bear charity. I was keen to show our support to such a worthwhile cause.

We’ve helped launch the Cyber Surgery appeal and will do all we can to help ensure the appeal reaches its £3 million target.”

“In addition to helping charities, we work with business support organisations such as ABC, helping them grow. This in-turn helps us provide access to hundreds-of-thousands of captive audiences for businesses to target.”
