This month is WAAM! Don't worry we're not trying to wake you up before you go-go. WAAM stands for World Autism Awareness Month.

"Autism is an incredibly complex condition, which is very different for each person who has it. There is no one-stop method of treating autism and its challenges, and the NEAS recognises that with their individually tailored care and education plans for each person who uses their services. Their staff are knowledgeable and experienced in all thecomplexities that come with autism and are incredibly dedicated to giving excellent quality services."

The North East Autism Society is a charity that was founded in 1980 by a group of parents whose children are on the autism spectrum. The charity then rebranded in 2009 to become the North East Autism Society. The society commits themselves to communities and works to develop high quality services for people with autism.

Within the Octopus office we are raising money for this excellent cause and all of the proceeds go directly to the North East Autism Society. We are currently running various programmes to raise money for Autism Awareness, one way we are fundraising is with cake sales, which are not only successful but delicious too!

With only two weeks left till the end of the month, our whisks will be put into overdrive, ready for our last few cake sales to raise money to for the North East Autism Society. So if you are passing the office, feel free to pop in and help us with our fundraising for this amazing charity.
