Octopus Media is a successful digital agency who has recently won several large software development contracts. We are looking to expand our software development team by recruiting a Web Developer on a permanent basis.

You must have at least 3 years commercial web development experience and have experience of ASP, ASP.Net, VB.Net, HTML, CSS, Visual Studio, SQL and IIS.

We are looking for a Web Developer who is able to take responsibility and ownership of their work, able to work in a fast moving, creative environment and able to work on their own as well as part of a team.

You must have experience of the full software project lifecycle, understand version control and have experiencing of developing secure code / Ecommerce environments.

Typical Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts & data processing concepts
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
• Ability to generate technical specifications
• Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required
• Ability to develop database technologies, with a specific emphasis on:
• SQL Server

Experience of the following languages:
• ASP.NET
• HTML
• VBScript
• Classic ASP (desirable)
• JavaScript/JQuery
• T-SQL

Experience of object oriented design.

Experience of full system development lifecycle

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
